IMMEDIATE SOLUTIONS
Immediate Molar Replacement: Giving Patients a Better Option
Dental implants are a known and predictable treatment option for missing teeth, where most patients today desire this therapy. Although implant survival is extremely high, these favorable outcomes depend greatly on proper case selection, minimizing medical risk factors, careful surgical and prosthetic execution, and prevention and management of complications. In clinical practice, patient demands are becoming more difficult to meet, where they often seek immediate implants with immediate function. This leaves the practicing clinician with a dilemma of meeting patient expectations, but often without scientific evidence for our treatment protocols. Are immediate implants as successful as delayed implant placement? Should immediate implants be limited to anterior teeth only? Are immediate molar implants stable long term? Is patient satisfaction improved when providing shorter treatment times? This presentation will discuss immediate implant placement, from single tooth to full-arch, including diagnosis and treatment planning, surgical and prosthetic execution, maintenance, and complications to help the practicing clinician meet the challenges of meeting patient demands without compromising long-term results.

Learning Objectives:

  1. This lecture will discuss evidence for immediate implant placement, from single tooth to full arch reconstruction.
  2. This lecture will discuss strategies to identify and prevent unfavorable outcomes in the immediate implant patient.
  3. This lecture will discuss the use of immediate molar implants, and evidence to support their use.

Contemporary and Preferred Transition from Teeth to Implants

Loosing a tooth is highly traumatic particularly when it is visible in the patient’s smile. Today we have the armamentarium, protocols, and evidenced based support to recommend a rapid and immediate transition with Immediate Implant Immediate Load. Patients can be scheduled and treated the day of their emergency or treatment need, with no preparatory work ups other than a simple x-ray. In this way the patient’s needs are satisfied leaving the office with the solution to the problem in place the day the tooth is lost with great esthetics . This protocol is efficacious, patient preferred and provides the clinician with extreme satisfaction in making the patient happy and growing the practice.

This program will highlight the concept, the armamentarium necessary, the particulars of the procedure and post op documentation to illustrate the superiority of this procedure over alternatives.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Attendees will understand the concept of immediate implant placement and immediate provisionalization.

  2. Attendees will learn the armamentarium necessary for immediate implant placement and immediate provisionalization.

REGENERATIVE SOLUTIONS
Expanding Your Treatment Horizons Through The Use of Cutting Edge Graft Materials

Regenerative materials continue to evolve in their implementation and predictability. They have expanded from using autogenous bone grafting to allografts that are fiber-based and xenografts that combine collagen with particulates. These evolutions provide the scaffolds and, in some instances, the biologic inductive agents that make the outcomes more robust and esthetic. This hands-on workshop will give the background on material selections along with the experience of handling these various materials in a variety of clinical situations such as extraction site defects, deficient osseous ridges, and peri-implantitis deformities. In addition, the workshop will cover some of the barrier options available and when they should and might no longer be necessary.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify what makes certain demineralized grafts better than others.
  2. Discuss the use of xenografts within a regenerative armamentarium and how to implement them best.
  3. List those situations that call for a collagen barrier.
  4. Discuss how to best manage infected sites when grafting

Dr. Paul Rosen has maintained a full-time private practice in Lower Bucks County for over 25 years limited to periodontics, surgical implant placement and regenerative therapy. He also has academic appointments as Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Maryland Dental School and Clinical Professor of Periodontics and Oral Implantology at Temple University Dental School. Dr. Rosen is board certified (Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology) where he also has been an examiner. Dr. Rosen is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and is known throughout the United States and internationally having written over 50 articles and 5 book chapters. He continues to be involved in research and his lectures have advanced periodontal and dental implant treatment, focusing on cutting edge techniques and innovative products.
